Making a tangible difference in Nigerian communities through impactful mental health initiatives and partnerships.
Our projects reach thousands of young Nigerians through strategic partnerships and community engagement
In collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Warri Command, Mental Health NG launched a comprehensive drug abuse awareness campaign targeting teenagers and young adults in Delta State. This groundbreaking partnership combined law enforcement expertise with our mental health approach to create a holistic prevention program.
The campaign reached over 1,000 young people across multiple schools and communities, providing education about the dangers of substance abuse, the psychological factors that lead to drug use, and healthy alternatives for coping with stress and peer pressure.
Visited 15 secondary schools with interactive presentations and workshops
Town hall meetings engaging parents, teachers, and community leaders
Trained 50 student ambassadors to continue anti-drug advocacy
Connected at-risk youth with counseling and recovery resources
"The Nigerian Teen Mental Health Awareness and NDLEA partnership brought a fresh perspective to drug abuse prevention. Instead of just focusing on law enforcement, we addressed the mental health issues that make young people vulnerable to substance abuse. This is the kind of comprehensive approach Nigeria needs."
— NDLEA Warri Command Representative

Go to GalleryBullying remains a significant mental health challenge for Nigerian teenagers, contributing to anxiety, depression, and in severe cases, suicidal ideation. Our Anti-Bullying Day Campaign was designed to raise awareness about the psychological impact of bullying and empower students, teachers, and parents with tools to prevent and respond to bullying effectively.
The campaign created safe spaces for students to share their experiences, learn about the different forms of bullying (physical, verbal, cyber, and social), and understand how to be upstanders rather than bystanders. Through interactive activities, role-playing, and peer-led discussions, participants developed empathy and strategies for creating bully-free school environments.

Go to GalleryIn partnership with the Rotary Club of Plantation City, Mental Health NG delivered a comprehensive mental health awareness program to students at FUTURE (Federal University of Technology, Ughelli Regional Education) Institute. This collaboration brought together civic leadership and mental health expertise to address the growing mental health crisis among university students.
The program was specifically designed to help young adults navigate the unique stressors of university life, including academic pressure, financial constraints, relationship challenges, and career uncertainties. Through expert-led sessions, peer discussions, and practical workshops, students gained valuable insights into maintaining their mental wellness during this critical life stage.
Expert talks on stress management, anxiety, depression, and academic pressures
Safe space for students to ask questions and share concerns anonymously
Practical sessions on self-care, time management, and healthy coping mechanisms
Free confidential screenings and referrals for students needing support
"This program opened my eyes to the fact that I'm not alone in my struggles. Knowing there are resources available gives me hope."
"The coping strategies I learned are already helping me manage my exam anxiety. Thank you for bringing this to our campus."
The collaboration with Rotary Club of Plantation City demonstrates the power of community partnerships in addressing mental health challenges. The Rotary Club's commitment to youth development combined with our clinical expertise created a program that was both professionally sound and community-relevant.
Following the success of this initiative, we've received requests from other tertiary institutions to replicate the program, and discussions are ongoing for making this an annual event at FUTURE Institute.
